About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Windows Engineer to improve our ability to deliver reliable, cost-effective and modern solutions in a private cloud environment.
We need a specialist to help develop and maintain our Windows OS service and drive process automation to next level. You will work alongside other team members to design and automate build of Windows Server blueprints based on Swiss Re IT standards using a variety of technologies, e.g., Puppet, Chocolatey, Proget, WSUS, Packer, Qualys, Azure DevOps, and VMware. The role also provides opportunities to work with other IT colleagues to develop automation solutions and to interact with our operations team in order to share your knowledge and expertise.
About the Team
Our team provides IT services to internal customers within Swiss Re. The GTS Infrastructure team consists of software developers, systems and information engineers. We provide high quality infrastructure services and ensuring smooth operation of critical platforms and business solutions. We work in multi-functional, agile teams on delivering IT solutions in close collaboration with customers and platform owners. We work closely with our other infrastructure colleagues who are responsible for our backup and storage environment, Active Directory and Azure AD, PKI, and Container Services.

About You
- Proven experience in Windows system engineering (Windows Server), building, automating, hardening
- Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., Ruby, PowerShell, Puppet)
- Understanding of general technical concepts, e.g., Kerberos, DNS, and networking
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- A team player with the ability to drive projects and willingness to learn new technologies
- experience in enterprise workloads in public or private cloud environments
- Experience with Azure DevOps
- Understanding of Infrastructure as Code principles, APIs, Microservices and related paradigms
