Assistant Underwriter

Are you ready to launch or grow your underwriting career with one of the world's leading reinsurance and insurance groups? This is your opportunity to work alongside experienced underwriters, build your technical expertise, and make a real impact in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

About the Role

As an Assistant Underwriter within our Corporate Solutions Operations team, you'll play a vital role in supporting the Financial Lines portfolio. • Collaborate with outsourced providers to resolve queries and issues efficiently and professionally
  • Modify, update, and process changes across applicable tools, systems, and documents to keep information current and accurate
  • Analyse and assess insurance submissions with a focus on evaluating exposures and coverages to support sound underwriting decisions
  • Prioritise new submissions quickly and effectively, identifying opportunities in collaboration with the broader underwriting team

The team is responsible for delivering high-quality administration and operational support, ensuring that underwriting processes run smoothly and efficiently. Working closely with underwriters, the team provides essential assistance across a range of underwriting activities — from data management and system updates to broker engagement — enabling the wider business to focus on delivering exceptional outcomes for clients.

About You

You bring a genuine interest in underwriting and insurance, paired with strong analytical abilities and a commitment to delivering excellent service. You take pride in your work, communicate with clarity and professionalism, and are always looking for smarter ways to get things done. If you are passionate about the insurance industry and looking to further your career in underwriting support, we'd love to hear from you.

  • Currently studying or willing to pursue a Diploma in General Insurance (ANZIIF) or a similar professional qualification
  • A solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities effectively
  • Strong client service orientation and a team-first attitude, with a demonstrated ability to work with professionalism and integrity
