About the Role

 

As an Underwriter Property – Corporate, you will play a key role in supporting the strategic objectives of the Corporate Solutions business by underwriting property risks in line with CorSo’s risk appetite and underwriting philosophy. You will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with brokers and corporate clients, delivering tailored insurance solutions that drive profitable growth.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies and account plans for assigned clients, in collaboration with Customer & Distribution Management, to achieve premium and profitability targets.
  • Originate, assess, and underwrite corporate property risks, with a focus on targeted business development and portfolio growth.
  • Design timely, customized insurance solutions that deliver value to clients while meeting Swiss Re’s profitability goals.
  • Underwrite risks in accordance with CorSo ANZ’s underwriting guidelines, pricing models, and delegated authority limits.
  • Deliver high-quality, timely underwriting service and support to clients and brokers, including accurate and prompt documentation.
  • Foster and strengthen long-term client relationships to support retention and identify future business opportunities.
  • Stay current on market trends, industry developments, and competitor activity to inform underwriting decisions and strategy.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with underwriting systems, guidelines, and pricing procedures.

 

About the Team

 

The Property & Specialty Underwriting Team within Corporate Solutions is responsible for driving profitable growth across Property and Engineering lines in alignment with the broader business strategy. You will be part of a collaborative team of twelve property underwriters, working together to deliver innovative solutions and exceptional service to our clients.

 

About You

 

  • Proven experience in underwriting mid-market and corporate property risks.
  • Strong knowledge of the Australian property insurance market and broker landscape.
  • Tertiary qualifications and/or ANZIIF certification (preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain profitable client relationships.
  • Client-focused with strong marketing and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders across all levels and geographies.
  • Highly organized with strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and goal-oriented.
