Business Services Associate

The objective of this position is the assistance with business-processing and technical support to the underwriting team (Latin America –Specialties, Engineering, Property and Casualty)

 

About the role:

  • Assistance with business-processing and technical support to the CorSo Underwriting team:
  • High level of interaction and coordination with team members and internal customers; moderate level of interaction with external customers.
  • Read, organize, and work with detailed source documents from internal and external customers following procedures to determine appropriate steps to follow.
  • Entry and maintenance of information in systems and tools used to complete associated tasks (risk clearance, create submissions, costing).
  • Modify, update, and process changes in applicable tools, systems (Manhattan), and documents, as needed.
  • Create and maintain electronic records and hard copies, if required, following established guidelines and processes.
  • Follow established performance standards and metrics applicable to the business unit supported.
  • High competency with process guidelines and applicable tools and systems.
  • Collaborate on the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures, system and tool enhancements, and testing/piloting changes.
  • Responsible for generating and verifying information in predefined business reports.
  • Ensure (external and internal) audit compliance.
  • Prepare documents for issuance and review for customer approval.
  • Compile, review, and verify data accuracy using source documents.                                                                                                                                                         
  • When errors are detected, contact customer or process owner with inconsistencies found and directions for corrections.
  • Interact with on-shore/off-shore contractors, as appropriate, to answer questions or give instructions.
  • Follow-up on outstanding items and documentation, as per guidelines.
  • Demonstrates advanced computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook and Web browsing.
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently analyze data following established processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrates analytical skills in order to determine and communicate recommendations to customers.
  • High interaction and coordination with underwriters and other internal /external departments related:
  • External Clients
  • Client Managers
  • Technical Accounting
  • Claims
  • External parties such as Genpact.

 

About You:

 

  • 4 year degree in a technical field (Actuarial, Engineering, Economics etc.)
  • (Re)Insurance knowledge preferred
  • Minimum 1 year relevant experience in P&C lines of business.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the business unit supported is preferred.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish  (Other languages may be essential based on the Market / Team being supported)
  • Applies accurate logic and common sense in decision making.
  • Ability to support underwriters located in a different office.
  • Demonstrates willingness to seek new knowledge and tasks, questions current   
  • Processes while suggesting improvements.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude, proactive thinking and effectiveness as a team player.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with people in a multi-cultural environment.
