About the Role

You will assist North America And Latam Surety clients with International Surety needs. Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Interacting and coordinating with internal teams in Operations and Underwriting across different regions, as well as with external stakeholders like clients, brokers, and network partners.
  • Processing and managing bonds in systems, including checking and coordinating the issuance of documents and managing them throughout their lifecycle.
  • Supporting underwriting during renewal processes, obtaining quotes, and coordinating with clients/brokers regarding international bonds and guarantees, including drafting bond wordings.
  • Administering syndicated loans, co-insurance, risk participation, and other transactions.
  • Identifying and addressing premium and fee discrepancies.

 

About the Team 
Credit & Surety Operations is an emerging team transforming into a trusted partner, closely collaborating with the global Surety business teams. We strive for high customer satisfaction and help the business achieve its profitable growth aspirations. Our team is spread across many locations in Europe, Asia Pacific, as well as North and Latin America. As part of the International Surety transformation project, we are implementing a new International Surety Model with new roles and responsibilities, standardizing and improving processes. We are also extending our international surety partner network.

Education 

  • Completed commercial education, preferably banking specialist or bachelor's degree in economics or law. 
  • Associate's degree or equivalent job experience. 

 

Experience 

 

  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in banking or insurance.
  • Basic knowledge of URDG 758 is required. Familiarity with ICISA forms and other international rules is a plus.
  • Experience with bonds placement, especially in NA and Latin America, is beneficial.
  • Basic understanding of the surety business, direct issuance, and fronting.
  • Experience with network partners, bank guarantees, and surety business is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of sanctions, commercial, and company law.
  • Previous experience in a client-facing role, preferably in a finance environment.

 

Linguistics 

  • Proficiency in English, Spanish is required. Portuguese is a plus.
  • Additional languages of relevant markets (especially French, German) are a plus.

 

Technical Competencies 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office is a must.  SWIFT messages for documentary business are a plus. 
  • Competency in intermediate level math, administrative and clerical procedures, general economic and accounting principles, and customer service processes.
  • Excellent reading comprehension, verbal, and written skills.
  • Occasional travel may be required for meetings, seminars, and training.
