L&H Portfolio Monitoring & Insights Analyst 
 
Are you a reinsurance professional looking for a new challenge?
We are looking for a motivated and collaborative individual with strong technical and business knowledge in the Latin America (LatAm) market to join the Portfolio Monitoring & Insights Americas team.
 
About the Role

In this role you will work closely with colleagues in the LatAm Market Unit, central functions and, from time to time, external clients to enable effective management of the business and strengthen our in-force resilience. This will involve:
•    Enabling and enhancing L&H Smart Circles for the LatAm Market Unit, including:

  • Developing a strong understanding of the LatAm L&H Portfolio, focusing on drivers for underlying business performance
  • Maintaining strong feedback loops via Smart Circles forums, ensuring alignment between cross-functional teams to enable timely identification of risks & opportunities and actions in response.
  • Providing support for management reporting on the L&H in-force, such as the Business Review Meetings

•    Supporting the LatAm Market Unit in proactively managing and enhancing our in-force book. Including:

  • Providing expert input and guidance on decisions around management of our in-force, including IFRS considerations.
  • Improving our monitoring capabilities by leveraging data and tech
  • Providing analytical support around the Smart Circles tools to the LatAm L&H XFT

•    Supporting Group-wide and local projects as required, including other priorities of the L&H PSM team.
 
About the Team
 
The Portfolio Monitoring & Insights Americas team is part of L&H Portfolio Steering & Monitoring (PSM), within the Chief Underwriting Office (CUO).  PSM aims to generate insights and connect our business to proactively steer L&H in delivering sustainable profit.  For the team, that means close collaboration with the US, Canada and Latin America market units as well as other functions across the L&H community. This role will have a broad remit to support the LatAm Market Unit (L&H).  
 
About You


Technical Skills and Knowledge
You:
•    Have 5+ years' experience in L&H insurance or reinsurance. Relevant LatAm market and product knowledge would be highly advantageous.
•    Possess strong analytical skills.  Experience working with large data sets and relevant analytics tools (e.g. Stargate, R Programming or Power BI) would be an asset. 
•    Have a good working understanding of the financial reporting frameworks relevant to Swiss Re (e.g. IFRS17). 
•    Knowledge of internal Swiss Re reporting systems & processes would be highly advantageous

You:
•    Work collaboratively with teams across different functional areas.
•    Are a strong communicator, with experience of presenting complex topics to cross-functional groups.
•    Can manage priorities to ensure that tangible outcomes are delivered, managing expectations and striking the right balance between detail and pragmatism.
•    Are fluent in written and spoken English and Spanish. Portuguese is a plus.
