P&C Junior Reserving Actuary

About the role

You will join us in supporting the business unit's growth strategy by collaborating in actuarial projects. The focus of the role will be on reserving, economic valuation and financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Participating in quarterly estimation of P&C insurance portfolio reserves, including cooperation with internal partners (Claims, Underwriting, Pricing, Finance/Accounting)
  • Estimating and analysing the corresponding pay-out patterns serving as one of the input parameters for IFRS and solvency calculations
  • Preparing internal and external (statutory) financial reports
  • Detailed portfolio reviews and analyses
  • Actuarial support in global projects
  • Process and controls documentation
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of data analytics solutions.

About the team

You be part of the Swiss Reinsurance Company Ltd based in Mexico City. We are responsible for determining the technical reserves at adequate levels meeting all local statutory and IFRS requirements for different regions. In addition, the team is supporting Swiss Re Group in all actuarial risk management aspects with respect to Swiss Reinsurance Company Ltd and Swiss Re Corporate Solutions in Mexico and Colombia.

About you

The most relevant criteria for this position are the following:

  • At least 1 year of experience in P&C (re-)insurance
  • Proficient understanding of IFRS principles and reserving methods for P&C (re-)insurance business
  • Experience using actuarial and statistical software
  • Motivation to deepen on actuarial qualification
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal English communication skills, additional language skills will be considered a plus
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, and deliver across multiple work efforts simultaneously
  • Capable of teamwork with different styles and cultures
  • Proactive attitude
