Requirements Engineer III

About the Role

 

In this pivotal role, you'll bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementation, ensuring our Costing & Pricing solutions deliver measurable business value. You'll collaborate with underwriting, pricing, finance, and technology teams to translate complex requirements into clear specifications that support the development and enhancement of costing tools and related business capabilities.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Analyze, clarify, and document business requirements, translating them into functional and technical specifications, including process maps, business architecture, wireframes, and data models.
  • Ensure comprehensive specification of User Stories with the required business context, data requirements, and supporting analysis.
  • Design and define test scenarios and support the Product Owner in creating effective acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Technology Leads, Business Process Managers, Business Architects, and Data teams to maintain end-to-end consistency across systems, processes, and information architecture.
  • Work closely with underwriting, pricing, and finance stakeholders to understand costing methodologies, pricing rules, and business processes.
  • Support the enhancement of costing and pricing tools by identifying opportunities for process optimization, automation, and improved user experience.
  • Organize and prioritize the Product Backlog based on Product Owner guidance.
  • Provide functional support for one or more business applications, resolving user requests or coordinating with development teams for complex issues.
  • Create and maintain project documentation and business knowledge artifacts on the corporate Wiki.

 

About You

 

You're a detail-oriented problem solver who thrives in collaborative environments. You have strong analytical skills and can effectively translate business needs into scalable technology solutions. You are proactive, customer-focused, and comfortable working with stakeholders across business, pricing, underwriting, and technology functions.

 

We need you to bring the following must-haves:

 

  • 5+ years of experience as a Requirements Engineer, Business Analyst, or similar role.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in cross-functional product teams.
  • Proficiency in Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar Agile management platforms.
  • Proficiency in Visio or other process mapping tools, with good knowledge of BPMN.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand business processes, data flows, and system interactions.

 

Nice to Have

 

  • Experience with Commercial Insurance products and processes.
  • Understanding of costing, pricing, profitability, or portfolio management concepts.
  • Knowledge of insurance industry standards and regulations.
  • Experience with data modeling, reporting, and database concepts.
  • Familiarity with API design principles and system integrations.
  • Background in software development or technical implementation.
