About the Role:


The position holder is responsible for ensuring daily monitoring and steering of the delivery of service level agreements, ensure adherence to risk and quality management processes and guidelines and compliance with treaty terms and conditions. As a Team Lead, the holder will also drive process improvement, simplification and controls, together with staff organization and development initiatives, to create a leading customer service (internal and external) operation.
This position has overall accountability for planning and management of the Technical Accounting (TA) Operations Team (Property, Energy, Engineering, Casualty), handling the implementation of objectives on a day-to-day basis within the Operations Teams,  as well as managing Technical Accounting KPIs/ P&L contribution and steering of business activities.

Main responsibilities:
•    Leading the Technical Accounting team in CorSo Division for Mexico and Miami operations, Direct Insurance Business and Facultative Business.
•    Ensure that technical accounting processes and operations are compliant.
•    Authorization of technical payments (in accordance with corresponding guidelines).
•    Fostering a motivational team spirit.
•    Maintain a strong operational rhythm, and proactively handle our KPIs. Develop and maintain and underlying culture of quality accuracy in all activities, and agree corrective actions when targets are not being met
•    Ensure efficient use of resources to handle workloads, projects and ensure deadlines are met. 
•    Make significant contributions to the internal and external process improvements.
•    Client issue resolution: Strong communication with other Ops Team Leaders and collaboration with other functional areas to address client issues that cannot be resolved within the Ops teams.
•    Deliver our value proposition to our stakeholders: agents, brokers, internal and external clients and regulator.
•    Ensure a robust control environment and work with Operational Risk and Compliance to ensure the key operational risks are covered and we have an effective control environment.
•    Be a leader and partner to Operations and Finance teams by managing Technical Accounting in an effective, efficient and compliant manner considering Group standards and regulatory requirements.
•    Establish an operational excellence framework to drive continuous improvement and the standardization of our operational risk management and compliance approach for our comprehensive, standard and international business.
•    Monitoring RCSA controls (Risk & Control Self-Assessment).
•    Ensure a business continuity plan for the operation.

 

About You:


•    At least 5 years of experience in leading roles in the insurance sector including reinsurance.
•    Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
•    Result oriented working style, with strong focus on performance, targets and risk management.
•    Pro-active business-oriented approach: understand customer issues and concerns and actively seek to address them in developing solutions.
•    Strong business insight and result orientation.
•    Ability to substantially contribute to and work with multi-cultural and cross functional teams.
•    Entrepreneurial and self-motivated mindset; eager to seek challenges.
•    Able to think innovatively and willing to take risk.
•    Ability to adapt to changes and implement them accordingly.
•    Strong analytical skills.
•    Strong computer skills (i.e. Excel, Power Point, Word, OneNote, Teams).
•    Languages: Fluent in English and Spanish.  Portuguese is a plus.
