Senior Underwriting Coordinator

About the Team

You would work closely with underwriting and everyone else on your team.  This includes sometimes engaging with other functions like accounting, claims, legal and IT to exchange ideas and solve problems.  You would also be responsible for overall business coordination of an assigned business segment, including ensuring statutory and internal control guidelines are met. We are a friendly and diverse group of individuals located in U.S., Mexico, Colombia and Brazil with varying levels of experience in the reinsurance industry.  We support Latin America Reinsurance teams and units in delivering on their core mandates.  We are part of a global team called Reinsurance Business Operations, and we work closely with our colleagues all over the world.

 

About the role:

Provides Business Services and with all relevant support within Facultative Underwriting Team for all non-client facing.

    • End – to end Submission handling: Critical Data check, system entries and binding Submission set up, underwriting and contract support, review of certificate/slips/endorsements and sending to client. Local and regional teamwork in order to support and assure process alignment and KPI's. Ensure data quality and compliance with internal standards & guidelines and statutory requirements.
    • Data analyses:  Risk Modelling and Pricing support on Facultative Single Risk. Supports Facultative Underwriter and Business Services with reporting needs.
    • Post – Bind process: Requesting missing information from client when necessary, creating / manipulating spreadsheets and pivot tables when necessary to format data. Resolves Accounting Discrepancies and Overdue Accounts:  contact clients and coordinate with internal accounting department to resolve overdue premiums and/or discrepancies. 
    • Contracts Management: Signature / Stamping, Comparisons, documentation & follow up. Maintain regulatory and Swiss Re Guidelines by updating/storing/tagging information to our systems. Ensure proper documentation and data quality to meet audit requirements. Enter contractual deal information into systems for consumption by other functions, such as Finance, Accounting, Claims and Reserving
    • Lead Projects and Initiatives with regional / global impact.
    • Shares knowledge and drives improvements within XFT.
    • Develops junior colleagues

 

About You

  • University graduate degree in business, accounting, finance, insurance, or related field
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, written and verbal. You will work on a regional team (Latin America).
  • Competent in Microsoft 365 suite, i.e., Power BI, Sharepoint, Powerpoint and Word
  • 3 years of Experience within the (Re)insurance industry.
  • Data savviness and attention to detail, high level of confidence/practical know how in working with large data files (e.g., NatCat data), MS excel expert skills
  • Adeptly prioritize competing tasks and manage timelines
  • Good Excel skills Re/insurance knowledge is a plus
  • Ability and willingness to transfer knowledge and experience to colleagues
