Caribbean P&C Client Underwriter - Hybrid

About the Role

 

 

The Client Underwriter will be responsible for helping to maintain and grow long-term relationships with some of Swiss Re's reinsurance clients in the Caribbean. Will work closely with Senior Client Underwriters and market head to source, underwrite and sell reinsurance products and solutions to our clients.

 

 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Help the team successfully grow business relationships across all P&C lines of businesses
  • Underwrite, analyze and price traditional P&C business
  • Support Senior Client Underwriters to drive execution of client planning, reinsurance renewal, deal opportunities, origination and negotiation
  • Proactively maintain and understand client motivations, needs, priorities as well as risk & capital drivers to define winning value propositions for key partners involved in the buying decision

 

 

About the Team

 

You will be a key contributor to the Caribbean center of competence in Miami. The teams work very closely together and collaborate strongly with other colleagues in the cross functional team.  The role will give you the opportunity to work in a multi-cultural and diverse environment and access senior stakeholders at clients across various territories and lines of business.

You've got strong interpersonal skills and communicate well. You're curious- always asking questions and searching for solutions. You have an Innovative mindset and strong ability to navigate ambiguity. You enjoy both client interactions and technical work

 

Essentials

  • At minimum, 3 years of Re/Insurance in either Underwriting, Actuarial or Client Facing role 
  • Consultative sale skills
  • Basic understanding of re/insurance
  • Analytical skills

 

Nice to have:

  • Prior knowledge of the Caribbean markets

 

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office three days per week.  This role is not eligible for either relocation assistance or visa sponsorship.

 

For Miami, FL, the estimated base salary range for this position is $108,000 to $162,000.  The specific salary offered for this, or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget.  At Swiss Re, we take a "total compensation approach" when making compensation decisions. This means that we consider all components of compensation in their totality (such as base pay, short-and long-term incentives, and benefits offered), in setting individual compensation.
