L&H Pricing Analyst Internship (Hybrid; m/f/x/d)

About the Role
As an L&H Pricing Analyst Intern based in Milan, you will gain valuable hands-on experience in reinsurance pricing across a broad range of Life & Health products in the different European markets. You will be supported by an experienced and collaborative team, contributing to real pricing decisions that shape the future of L&H reinsurance across Continental Europe. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your technical and professional skills in a fast-paced, intellectually stimulating environment where your contributions truly matter. The internship duration is flexible and can be arranged for 6, 9, or 12 months, and the percentage of working time can be discussed and agreed upon to suit your individual needs and circumstances.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and deliver pricing analyses for a wide range of L&H reinsurance products across multiple European markets, gaining exposure to real business challenges
- Analyse and interpret data to support sound pricing decisions and provide actionable insights to stakeholders
- Assist in the design and review of reinsurance structures, learning how they are competitively priced and aligned with market needs
- Contribute to the development of pricing tools and methodologies, supporting continuous improvement of processes and approaches
- Collaborate cross-functionally with colleagues across Continental Europe and communicate findings clearly and in a structured way
- Learn from experienced pricing professionals, building your knowledge of L&H reinsurance markets, products, and pricing techniques

The L&H CE Regional Pricing Team operates within L&H Continental Europe at Swiss Re. About You
You are a curious and motivated student or recent graduate with a genuine interest in Life & Health insurance and reinsurance. You bring strong analytical thinking and a collaborative spirit, and you are eager to learn and grow in an international, multicultural environment. You communicate with clarity and enthusiasm, and you are excited to contribute to a high-performing team from day one.
We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
- Academic background in actuarial science — a Master's degree (completed or in progress) is an advantage
- Knowledge of life insurance products, including their structures, risk profiles, and pricing principles
- Knowledge of reinsurance structures, and an understanding of how they are applied across different markets
- Data analysis skills, with the ability to work with datasets, draw meaningful conclusions, and support data-driven decision-making
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams, functions, and cultures
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken), essential for working in an international European context
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to build and manage pricing models and analytical tools
These are additional nice to haves:
- Knowledge of an additional European language (e.g., Italian, French, German) — a great asset when engaging with colleagues across Continental Europe
Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.
