Senior L&H Client Manager & Actuary (Hybrid; m/f/x/d)
Would you like to shape the future of Life & Health reinsurance in Italy? This is your opportunity to take on a strategically pivotal role at Swiss Re — one where actuarial excellence meets commercial leadership, and where your work directly influences how we support clients across pricing, product design, and capital optimisation. If you are passionate about building lasting partnerships and driving sustainable growth in a dynamic market, we would love to hear from you.
About the Role
As Senior Client Manager & Actuary L&H for Italy, you will be accountable for the end-to-end performance of your L&H Italian client portfolio — combining deep actuarial expertise with commercial accountability and strategic client engagement. You will be responsible for the overall performance, development, and market positioning of Swiss Re across your client base, ensuring consistent and high-quality delivery across Core reinsurance, solutions, transactions, and value-added services.
Operating in a collaborative matrix environment, you will work closely with Pricing, Underwriting, Claims, Technical Accounting, Reserving, Solutions, and Transactions teams, while maintaining clear ownership of client outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the client relationship end-to-end: Serve as the central point of contact for your L&H clients in Italy, ensuring seamless communication and consistently high-quality service delivery
- Develop and execute growth strategies: Identify and implement opportunities for existing and prospective clients, leveraging actuarial expertise in pricing, product development, and portfolio steering
- Drive pricing and profitability analysis: Work cross-functionally and directly with clients to price and analyse the profitability of life reinsurance treaties, supporting the development and pricing of new life insurance products
- Monitor portfolio performance: Analyse emerging claims experience and steer portfolio outcomes through data-driven insights and proactive management
- Build trusted, long-term client relationships: Position Swiss Re as the leading and preferred reinsurance partner in the Italian market through strategic engagement and professional credibility
- Manage client relationships holistically: Oversee the financial performance of in-force portfolios and evaluate and structure new business opportunities
- Expand market presence: Build and maintain a strong professional network within the Italian insurance market to identify and execute opportunities across Swiss Re's strategic pillars — Core, Solutions, and Transactions
- Represent Swiss Re externally: Act as a credible technical ambassador at client meetings, industry events, conferences, and professional forums
About the Team
You will join a dynamic and highly motivated team committed to delivering outstanding results and shaping the future of Swiss Re's business. As part of the Continental Europe South L&H hub, you will work within a connected continental European and global L&H network. The environment is fast-paced, highly collaborative, and intellectually stimulating — characterised by analytical excellence, professional exchange, and a strong team spirit.

- Fluent Italian and English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proven ability to work in client-facing or commercially accountable roles within the insurance or reinsurance sector
- Solid understanding of local GAAP / IFRS and regulatory frameworks, including Solvency II and the IVASS context
These are additional nice to haves:
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrix or cross-functional environment
