Objective of Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to take on the role of Actuarial Analyst for Medical Reinsurance, based in Mumbai, India.
The successful candidate will support a dedicated Medical insurance costing team to offer pricing support, product development and portfolio management as part of Swiss Re's Reinsurance solutions to Medical insurance clients in India as well as Asia.
He / she will also be working closely with client managers, underwriting and medical operations colleagues to develop and execute strategies to accelerate business growth and maintain operational excellence.
Major Responsibilities
- To support the System Landscape Project by being involved in each step of the data journey and working closely with the Data Centre team.
- To help manage in-force medical portfolio by performing in-depth experience studies and claims analytics on large data sets and communicating results effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
- To assist in actuarial pricing of medical business by performing data analysis supplemented by general and market research (incorporating advanced modelling techniques).
- To provide support for projects related to data analytics for medical business.
- To collaborate with client managers, underwriting and medical operations team in pursuing new business opportunities and in maintaining healthy performing medical portfolio.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Good progress towards actuarial qualification (minimum 6 exams credit) under a recognized actuarial body (SOA/CAS/IOA/FOA/FIA) with a Bachelor degree from a recognized university.
- 2 years of insurance, reinsurance or consulting working experience (including internships)
- Strong technical skills with proficiency in MS Excel + Macros, SAS, R, SQL or other statistical / actuarial software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Sound knowledge of current medical products, trends, market and regulations
Ability to work independently, accurately and deliver to deadlines, and consult to internal stakeholders and external clients
