About the Role
Swiss Re Life and Health (L&H) Re Claims forms part of the Swiss Re L&H Reinsurance. In addition to the Claims management of existing business, the team ensures insights gained from in-force business are appropriately incorporated in our new business activities.
L&H Re-claims team works closely with many Swiss Re teams specifically L&H UW, pricing, and Client Markets to ensure Swiss Re has aligned priorities and client focus whilst delivering market-specific, portfolio-directed services, which support our overall strategic approach to managing risks and client relationships.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to lead Swiss Re L&H claims team and collaborate with clients and various teams within Swiss Re locally and regionally. This role will be instrumental in the implementation of a meaningful and relevant claims philosophy whilst promoting and sharing best practice claims management techniques with clients and internal stakeholders.
Core Responsibilities:
- Assess and manage client claims case referrals within the terms and conditions of the policy within the agreed turnaround times.
- Manage the day-to-day planning and operations to carry out his/her responsibilities effectively
- Ensure Client Audits are conducted within internal framework and oversee implementation of any remedial actions to improve claims standards.
- Support the UW & Claims head in developing client portfolio management strategy, planning, and carrying out Claims Audits to ensure alignment to business goals and priorities
- Ensure required claims data and reports are accurate and complete for business reporting purposes (KPIs, etc.)
- Work closely with team members in managing client relationships, providing solutions and value-added claims services, including claims case management, training, seminars, projects etc.
- Support the Claims Manager in tendering for new business, innovative product development and in promoting claims profile and expertise in the India market.
- Ensure treaty documentation contains agreed terms and conditions, and the relevant claims clauses and articles according to acceptable SR standards.
- Lead the India Claims team towards achieving goals, design and delivery departmental plans

Your appointment to this role will be subject to you meeting fit and proper requirements
Education and professional experience:
- Graduate
- 10 + years' experience
- FLMI, III, ACS destinations is a plus
- A degree/diploma in insurance or similar discipline (insurance, medicine, healthcare, data science and mathematics) is an advantage.
Skills requirements:
- Significant awareness of life insurance markets and portfolio dynamics in India Market
- Knowledge of products being offered in these markets along with the ability to anticipate and/or mitigate potential risks and identify product development or service opportunities
- Understanding as well as knowledge of the insurance/reinsurance industry
- The ability to conduct client audits and develop training materials from audit findings to strengthen client's technical knowledge
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, other languages a plus
- Familiar with common office applications (e.g. Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Willing to learn new computer skills.
- Team handling experience is preferable
