Governance & Steering Manager (Hybrid, m/f/x/d, 60-100%)

About the Team:

 

We are a newly formed team within Corporate Solutions' Customer and Distribution management & Innovative Risk Solutions (CDM &IRS) unit, consisting of highly experienced insurance professionals. Together with you, we take the opportunity to create a high-performing team from scratch. We put open, direct communication as well as personal empowerment at the center of our collaboration, ensuring we can apply operational rigor as well as common-sense in all governance and steering activities across the Global Distribution Management, Customer Management as well as Innovative Risk Solutions frameworks.

 

About the Role:

 

As Governance & Steering Manager, you will work alongside a small team of experienced governance professionals covering our CDM & IRS framework, including the tool infrastructure underpinning our governance processes.

You are the point of contact for business partners with regards to Governance, Risk and Control and selected Reporting topics. This includes working closely with our business partners to continuously improve our governance, risk, and compliance framework.

  • Build, maintain, and improve CDM & IRS frameworks and process controls, including tool infrastructure and related databases.

  • Track, control, monitor and report on governance breaches, working to maintain our Risk Control Self-Assessment framework.

  • In collaboration with business partners, be responsible for the development, monitoring and reporting on KPI related to the CDM & IRS framework.

  • Work closely with the governance, legal, compliance and risk management functions to exchange insights and relevant data while implementing and maintaining quality governance standards.

  • Contribute to identifying and closing gaps regarding customer management capabilities

  • Proactively identify any potential gaps and improvement areas in our governance.

  • Support and/or lead governance workstreams of CDM & IRS projects.

About You:

You have strong people skills, empowering and inspiring those you lead and collaborate with. In particular, we would like you to:

  • Professional-level experience of insurance and/or reinsurance, in governance (ideally within functions Underwriting/Sales, and/or Operations), compliance, and/or risk management

  • Process and project management skills, ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

  • Good analytical skills – focus on details without losing track of the big picture

  • Collaborative, engaging and positive team player with good organizational skills

  • Strong communicator with the ability to liaise with all hierarchical levels

  • Able to work in teams with people from different departments and in different locations

  • Self-motivated, able to work independently

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

  • Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills and experience

  • Excellent written and spoken English, other languages are an advantage
