About the Role

We, at Finance Corporate Solutions, are currently seeking for highly motivated and experienced Senior Credit Risk Manager to join our Finance unit and design and implement a Counterparty Credit risk monitoring framework for Corporate Solutions business. Your role will be to identify risk worth taking while steering away from risk that could destabilize Corporate Solutions. You will contribute to protecting the reputation and financial strength of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions and support sound risk decisions while ensuring financial resilience of Corporate Solutions.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement and maintain a Counterparty Credit risk monitoring framework for Corporate Solutions business
    • Transactional support
    • Exposure measurement
    • Portfolio monitoring
    • Compliance with Swiss Re Financial Risk Management standards
  • Propose and agree with Group Credit Risk Management on counterparty internal ratings and to set capacity limits
  • Assess and recommend the risk appetite for transactions on a timely basis
  • Closely monitor capacity limits and handle requests to increase them
  • Build an operating model for credit risk related procedures (Underwriting, reporting, monitoring)
  • Create and maintain counterparty watchlist
  • Day-to-day management reporting of key risks and trends to senior management
  • Accurate and timely reporting of all credit exposures in International program business
  • Conduct due diligence and pre-approve credit capacity limit
  • Ensure effective communication with stakeholders
  • Act independently and provide coaching to junior colleagues

 

About the Team 

The Credit Risk Manager will report into the Corporate Solutions' Head Finance IFM & Reinsurance. The team is responsible for the administration and financial reporting of internal and external reinsurance for Corporate Solutions, including the cessions related to international programs. The role will interact frequently with a number of key stakeholders, including Corporate Solutions and Reinsurance embedded Finance teams, Reinsurance Manager Corporate Solutions, Group Credit Risk Management, Underwriters, etc.

 

About You

  • University degree in economics, finance or other relevant social science field
  • Professional certifications, such as CFA, FRM and/or CRC[ML1]  is a plus
  • 5+ years' experience in a credit analytical or credit risk management role is required
  • Solid understanding of insurance sector desirable
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
  • Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint) skills on advanced level
  • Very good command of English (spoken and written); other European languages are a plus
  • Courage to speak up, demonstrate pragmatism and firm judgment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Stress resilient, with the ability to work independently
