Senior Social Media Manager & Strategist (Hybrid; m/f/x/d; 80-100%)

About the Role 

In this role, you will shape and advance Swiss Re’s paid digital media strategy within Group Communications at Swiss Re. This includes responsibility for strategy, executing and optimising paid campaigns across digital channels — with a strong focus on aligning those efforts with our broader digital ecosystem, including corporate web properties.

As part of the Social Media & Digital Excellence Team, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external platforms to ensure high-quality execution, measurable performance, and strategic alignment. You will also act as a team deputy, taking over team leadership responsibilities during absences and contributing to the team’s development.

Your ability to combine strategic thinking with operational excellence will be essential to driving impact across our paid digital efforts and enhancing the visibility of Swiss Re’s communications.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and further develop Group Communications’ global paid digital media strategy, covering social platforms, web placements, and connected digital channels
  • Analyse performance across paid digital touchpoints and deliver data-driven recommendations for optimisation
  • Plan, execute, monitor and optimise paid media campaigns across platforms such as LinkedIn, Meta (Facebook/Instagram), and other relevant digital environments
  • Align paid media campaigns with Swiss Re’s web strategy, ensuring seamless integration with websites, landing pages and content hubs
  • Define and refine audience targeting and segmentation strategies for campaigns
  • Provide strategic consulting and hands-on guidance to internal clients on paid digital planning and executionStay informed on platform trends, regulatory changes and innovations in digital marketing
  • Ensure access rights and platform governance for paid media accounts used by Group Communications
  • Support the evolution of Swiss Re’s global social media strategy from a paid perspective
  • Act as strategic deputy to the Head of Social Media & Digital Excellence, including representing the team during periods of absence and supporting team leadership

You’ll work alongside specialists in paid and organic social media, digital asset development, governance and analytics – and contribute to a culture of excellence, learning and continuous improvement.

About You 

You are a strategic and adaptable professional who thrives in complex, global environments. With a proactive mindset and strong attention to detail, you collaborate effectively, drive measurable results, and remain calm under pressure while continuously seeking improvement.

•    5+ years of experience in paid media, performance marketing, or digital ecosystems, ideally in a B2B or corporate environment
•    A proven track record of designing and executing successful paid digital strategies and campaigns
•    A strong understanding of social media, web platforms and digital marketing tools
•    A degree in marketing, communications, business or a related field
•    Solid analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, derive insights and present performance results
•    Excellent stakeholder management, consulting and communication skills
•    Strong planning and project management capabilities, including vendor coordination and budget oversight
•    Experience representing or supporting team leadership (e.g. as a deputy)
•    Fluency in English; German is a plus

 

For Germany, the base salary range for this position is between 83,000 and 138,000 EUR (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers: ​

  • the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,​
  • the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience
