2025 Investment Steering Intern

About the Role: 

The Investment Steering Intern will support the Head Investment Steering Americas and the rest of the team with the following:

 

  • Analysis and implementation of Swiss Re's overall investment strategy from a subsidiary insurance carrier's point of view. This includes considering capital and regulatory regimes, liquidity, tax, other implications
  • Preparing support material and analysis required to present the investment results and strategy proposals to key stakeholders
  • Updating legal entity investment guidelines for approval by the Local CFO and the Board of Directors
  • Monitoring legal entity investment activity keeping current on our portfolio positioning
  • Supporting with the creation and monitoring of asset class specific investment mandates

 

About the Team: 

The Investment Steering ("IS") team plays an integral role managing the assets of Swiss Re. We are a team of 4 in the Americas and a dozen globally. We are high profile within Asset Management (AM) and across Swiss Re, representing AM for Boards and Legal entity Management teams.  The global Investment Steering team is led by a member of the AM leadership team, the Head of Clients, Steering, and ALM.

 

About You: 

We are looking for a colleague with excellent interpersonal skills who is comfortable and enjoys working in a collaborative environment to bring their authentic selves to work and to our team!

 

Essentials include:

  • At least two years in a Bachelors or Master's program majoring in Finance, Business, Mathematics, or Actuarial Sciences.
  • Proven analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Well developed MS-Office skills, Excel and PowerPoint in particular.

 

Nice to haves:

Knowledge of major asset classes and investment types.

 

For New York City, the base salary will be $20-$30 per hour, depending on location, qualifications, projected graduation year and/or highest degree held.
