About the Role:

 

As an Assistant Vice President in our Political & Country, Financial Institutions Credit Risk team, you will apply advanced analytics in a transaction-driven credit environment. This role offers the perfect blend of independent credit analysis and innovative data-driven solutions, with opportunities to expand your influence across our global risk management framework.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform independent quantitative and qualitative credit risk analysis on individual counterparties across diverse sectors (e.g., banks, sovereigns, supranationals) and geographies
  • Develop and deliver ratings and limit recommendations for senior management decision-making
  • Create concise, decision-oriented analysis on complex credit exposures and transaction-related risk assessments
  • Monitor credit developments and engage proactively with stakeholders on emerging risks
  • Design and implement quantitative tools to enhance scalability, consistency, and insight generation across credit risk assessments.
  • Apply data science techniques to improve speed, scalability, and insight generation
  • Work with complex datasets to extract meaningful patterns and support risk decision-making
  • Drive automation initiatives for recurring analyses and reporting processes

 

About the Team:

 

You'll join the Political & Country, Financial Institutions Credit Risk team within the Credit Risk Management (CRM) department, which is part of the Solvency & Financial Risk Management (SFRM) division. Our team combines deep credit expertise with innovative quantitative approaches to assess and manage political, country, and financial institution risks. We safeguard the organization's financial strength through rigorous analysis and proactive risk management. We work closely with business partners across the globe, providing critical risk insights that enable strategic decision-making while maintaining robust risk governance.

 

About You:

 

You're a quantitatively minded professional who thrives on turning complex data into actionable insights. With strong analytical capabilities and excellent communication skills, you can translate technical findings into business recommendations. You're curious, detail-oriented, and enjoy working in a collaborative environment where your expertise directly contributes to organizational success.

 

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

 

  • Strong quantitative and analytical background with solid academic credentials in a relevant field (Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar)
  • Proven hands-on experience designing and implementing production-ready analytical tools or data-driven frameworks in a business or risk environment
  • Advanced programming skills in Python, R or Power BI
  • 4-7 years of relevant experience in financial risk assessment, data analysis, or related fields

 

These are additional nice to haves:

 

  • Experience in credit risk assessment, capital markets analysis, or financial institutions
  • Knowledge of credit rating methodologies and risk assessment frameworks
  • Familiarity with financial statement analysis and credit modeling techniques
  • Experience working in a global or matrix organization
  • Professional certifications such as FRM, CFA, or similar

 

 

 

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.

 

The estimated base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $150,000 for New York City (NY).  

The specific salary offered for this, or any given role, will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/ specialization/ scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget.
