Crisis Management Intern

About the Role: 

The NA Crisis Management Intern will assist the Head of Crisis Mgmt., Deputy Head of Crisis Mgmt., and Underwriting team with the following:

  • Administrative Duties which may include assistance with Expense Reporting, Creation of reports to help manage the portfolio

  • Project Work involving updating applications & marketing materials, endorsement and policy wording re-write and review

  • IT System Work involving helping to streamline workflow from Matterhorn Rating Model to CWB online platform process Rating Model

  • Review of Loss Data to assist business in analyzing rating models

  • Join in Team meetings, participate in local broker visits and meetings, and be mentored personally by NY based staff

 

About the Team: 

The North American Crisis Management Team is a close knit and welcoming group responsible for the largest North American Product Recall Insurance book of business in the U.S. Comprised of highly engaged hybrid and remote workers across the U.S., the team is always happy to share their knowledge and experience in Claims, Product Contamination, Product Recall, Underwriting, and Broker Relationship Management.

 

The team has broker relationships across the U.S., Canada, and London and are constantly striving to provide excellent service and grow the book profitably. The underwriting team also collaborates regularly with actuarial, claims, legal, risk engineering, Products UW, and underwriting analysts to produce great results for Corporate Solutions.

 

About You: 

  • Someone in a Bachelors or Master's program majoring in Business, Insurance, Mathematics, or Actuarial Sciences

  • Good Communication Skills

  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills

  • Knows how to produce functions and macros

  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail

  • Strong operational skills

  • Works well with a team and independently

  • Consistent in their daily routine

 

For New York City, the base salary will be $20-$30 per hour, depending on location, qualifications, projected graduation year and/or highest degree held.
