About the role
This role will support the Sales and Distribution team in their regular business and strategic projects.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assistance in distribution of ILS and other instruments (private deals and sidecars) to institutional investors in the Americas
- Origination of marketing materials for sponsor meetings and calls
- Identify and monitor capital markets trends in terms of products, price and available capacity
- Responsible for recording and analyzing loss data/payouts for Catastrophe bonds
- Assist in the development and implementation of Swiss Re's ILS distribution and origination strategy
- Work closely with ILS team members on placement tactics
- Prepare distribution pitches for new investment accounts
- Publish periodic updates on the ILS market for investors and maintains Swiss Re's Capital Markets website
About the team
Join the Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS) team, we are a global team with members and clients around the world! We're committed to the development of a market for liquid, transparent and tradable insurance-linked risk products, demonstrating our re/insurance and capital markets experience.
The ILS Sales and Distribution team is the link between Swiss Re and institutional investors. The team markets and sells Swiss Re structured catastrophe bonds as well as other ILS products, also participating in secondary trading, and gathering market intelligence.
About you
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, finance, economics, mathematics or other quantitative field (will have completed second to last year of study prior to the start of the internship)
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Knowledge of programming languages is a plus (e.g. Python, Rstudio, VBA)
- Excellent oral and written English
- Organized self-starter with good project management skills
For NYC, the base salary will be $20-$30 per hour, depending on location, qualifications, projected graduation year and/or highest degree held.
