About the Team:

An International Program Manager is a fundamental role within the International Business team acting as a key coordinator and facilitator of International Programme business responsible for:


1)      coordination, control of program delivery, compliance and the support of training of international program business

2)      ensuring quality, consistency and first class service delivery in the provision of International Programs written by Swiss Re CorSo

3)      the implementation of, and strong adherence to, globally consistent service levels

4)      ensure the performance monitoring of the agreed service levels are kept within agreed tolerances, taking necessary actions where required

5)      support to the wider Primary Lead team in order to deliver a globally consistent international business proposition  


The International Program Managers provide a comprehensive client service to the Producing Office Underwriter, Underwriter Assistance and Broker in setting up and managing International Programs. The position provides oversight throughout the entire life cycle of the programme working closely with the regional servicing teams and the Network Partner Coordinators to ensure the speedy and accurate delivery of the entire program, while ensuring with the Underwriter the adherence to all applicable market regulations and practices. In addition the International Programme Managers:


•       acts as referral point for both UW and UA’s particularly on complex deals. Supporting the structuring of such programs and in particular ensuring compliant solutions  

•       provide Market Facing support and capability to the Underwriter in Client Management and Broker facing presentations


An International Program Manager reports to the Head of International Programme Management, with the key focus on service delivery and ensuring the business (Producing Offices) have the appropriate level of support in order to execute international programs. This position has a pivotal responsibility for ensuring the international business proposition is conveyed and understood by both internal and external stakeholders and supporting the delivery of international program business worldwide.


Through personal interventions and that of the team supports on all international business matters including training and acts as an advisor to UWs on complex international programs. The position monitors the operational performance on both a portfolio basis and on individual deals, also provides supports for business, product and proposition development activities.


About the Role:

1.      Supports the International Program Excellence Managers in dispersing guidelines and directives for international business

2.      Supports producing UW in structuring International Program to ensure compliance with local regulations, laws and market practices

3.      Support in the construction of premium allocations including the application of appropriate taxes   

4.      Acts as escalation point and filter for exceptions and non-program international business

5.      Monitors and reports on operational program performance (end to end) and addresses issues to ensure client delivery on an immediate and longer term basis

6.      Liaises with International Network Management to address local office under performance and/or breaches to guidelines

7.      Liaises with International Financial Management to understand cash position across program portfolio

8.      Identification of trends across international Business portfolio incl. additional Lines of Business to enhance product and proposition

9.      Supports UW with marketing to brokers and clients

10.  Support training and certification of PO functions in respect of IB
