Investment Analyst Private Debt (Hybrid Work Model)

About the Role

 

As Private Debt Investment Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting and helping to shape the Private Debt asset class within Swiss Re . The role involves helping to develop and oversee the long-term strategy and operating model for the asset class, as well as day-to-day management of the portfolio. You will be involved in the investment, steering, monitoring, and assessing the performance of the portfolio while contributing to a team-oriented atmosphere of collaboration and a strong risk management culture.

 

 

 

Key responsibilities also include:

 

  • Contribute to the development of recommendations and ongoing management of attractive investment opportunities within Private Debt on a global basis
  • Involvement in selection of asset managers, due diligence process, as well as execution of new investment mandates for Private Debt
  • Help oversee Private Debt asset managers including ongoing assessment of investment strategy as well as operational aspects
  • Evaluate, review and due diligence of individual Private Debt transaction opportunities originated by external asset managers
  • Develop and maintain a high standard portfolio monitoring framework capturing key portfolio characteristics as well as developments in terms of returns and risk
  • Drive and coordinate with key stakeholders customized reporting frameworks and presentations to relevant business units and internal committees
  • Produce high quality analytical analyses of the Private Debt portfolios and platform to support portfolio performance assessment and long-term strategy
  • Keep abreast of market developments and prepare commentary to be disseminated across various internal stakeholders

 

 

About the Team

 

 

 

The Private Debt team is a diverse and global team of investment professionals located in New York, Zurich, and London part of the Private Investments unit in Swiss Re Group Asset Management. We are a core function within Swiss Re Asset Management, responsible for managing private debt portfolios for Swiss Re's own balance sheet. The team consists of dedicated specialists overseeing and transacting in Infrastructure, Commercial Mortgage, and Mid-Market Loans across a global portfolio.

 

 

About You

 

You come to us with a strong analytical and quantitative skill set with the ability to work independently in a dynamic, international environment. You have solid project management abilities with excellent attention to detail and your natural interpersonal communication capabilities help you succeed in collaborative work styles.

 

Additional requirements include:

 

  • College/university degree or equivalent. CFA or similar qualifications are a plus
  • 2-5 years of investment industry experience, past involvement in private or public fixed income investments a plus
  • International market experience is a plus
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability and willingness to travel when required

 

 

For New York City the estimated base salary range for this position is $92,000 to $144,000. The specific salary offered for this or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget. At Swiss Re, we take a "total compensation approach" when making compensation decisions. This means that we consider all components of compensation in their totality (such as base pay, short-and long-term incentives, and benefits offered), in setting individual compensation.
