About the Role

As Lead Pre-Sales & Business Development US & Canada you are at the heart of strategic sales orchestration and client-led product development of our property solutions product portfolio. Together with the sales teams you manage the sales funnel and play an active role in building compelling sales narratives and close leads. Your deep market insights and active listening skills help you contribute meaningfully to further advance our product roadmaps and expand market penetration.

About the Team

Property Solutions is a global team offering products and solutions to our client base across insurers, brokers, and corporate customers. We drive risk selection, pricing and portfolio steering through risk intelligence (e.g. CatNet®, POI), risk modelling (e.g. NatCat Modelling Engine) and product innovation (e.g. private flood products). We combine Swiss Re's in-house insights with partner knowledge and data and turn it into products that help solve our clients' challenges. You will become a member of a vibrant international team with a high energy level and a can-do demeanour. We celebrate success but also learn from failures. About You

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in pre-sales / business development at a solutions provider to the insurance industry; or property underwriting with professional growth ambitions into property solutions
  • You have a profound overview of the natural catastrophe and property vendor market, and you know the relevant players
  • Thorough understanding of underwriting workflows and pricing
  • Hands-on experience as a user of natural catastrophe hazard and cat modelling platforms would be a plus*

  • Strong commercial mindset and demonstrated abilities to drive successful business development strategies in a scaling business

For Armonk, NY and New York, NY, the estimated base salary range for this position is $128,000 to $225,000.  The specific salary offered for this, or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget.  At Swiss Re, we take a "total compensation approach" when making compensation decisions. This means that we consider all components of compensation in their totality (such as base pay, short-and long-term incentives, and benefits offered), in setting individual compensation.
