About Swiss Re Capital Markets

Swiss Re Capital Markets (SRCM), a leading broker-dealer in the structuring, placement and secondary trading of Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS) in the capital markets. ILS includes catastrophe bonds, sidecars, synthetic solutions and many other securitization and derivative products. SRCM provides risk hedging and financing needs to a variety of clients, including re/insurers, governments and corporations, with expertise in both the property & casualty and life and health sectors. Risks transferred in ILS transactions can range from natural disasters and pandemic diseases all the way to cyber risk or terror events. Since market’s inception, SRCM has structured and syndicated more than $33 billion of ILS instruments.


About the Role:

•Support the origination, pricing, structuring and execution of ILS transactions for SRCM clients and Swiss Re

•Develop client materials for new transaction opportunities and prepare presentations for investor discussions
•Join a cross functional team consisting investment bankers, risk modelers, rating agencies and legal firms that work closely together during the execution of ILS transactions
•Analyze and research the exposures of SRCM clients (sovereign nations, corporations and (re)insurers)
•Contribute to the research and innovation related to transferring emerging perils and new structural solutions

•Perform financial analysis using Monte Carlo simulation techniques and cash flow models

•Travel to client and investor meetings and actively engage in the discussion

•Perform in an empowering and fast-paced international environment


About You:

•(Re)insurance, catastrophe modeling or actuarial experience required

•Structuring or underwriting expertise in ILS, reinsurance or catastrophe modeling
•Understanding of ILS or reinsurance market dynamics
•Demonstrated ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects, deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

•Strong communication, quantitative and analytical skills

•Ability to interact with clients professionally and make a good impression
•Excellent grammar, spelling and attention to detail in presentation materials
•Strong team player

•Bachelor's degree with significant emphasis in Mathematics, Finance, Economics or similar analytical discipline with a strong record of achievement required
