About the Role: 

Join the ILS Investment team of SRILIAC, the Swiss Re Investment Managers focused on Cat Bond strategies, as an intern and contribute to developing and enhancing catastrophe bond investment strategies, process and tools for the Portfolio Management (PM) team. As an intern you will be actively involved with the PM to brainstorm and develop innovative portfolio strategies and work with the Portfolio Analytics and Engineering (PAE) team to develop new tools for scenario analysis, portfolio construction/monitoring, and risk modelling. In addition, you will support the PM and PAE teams with ad-hoc project/tasks. 

 

About the Team: 

The SRILIAC Portfolio Management team manages a cat bond portfolio. The team is the investment team of a US-based Swiss Re investment advisor (SRILIAC) which is part of the broader Swiss Re Alternative Capital Partners Group which also structures, originates, and distributes Insurance-Linked Securities. ILS is a rapidly developing area where insurance and finance converge. The SRILIAC Portfolio Management team works in a very dynamic and fast-paced environment focusing on risk analysis, trading and portfolio management.

 

About You:

  • Previous financial industry internship experience and/or relevant academic experience with a quantitative background with experience in data modelling, SQL, and Python programming.
  • Prior experience/knowledge on performance analysis is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team oriented approach
  • Willingness to be flexible and learn a variety of new skills quickly
  • Ability to work in global and multi-cultural environment

 

For New York City, the base salary will be $20-$30 per hour, depending on location, qualifications, projected graduation year and/or highest degree held.
