Casualty Claims Expert (m/f/x/d - Hybrid)

About the Role

Put simply: we want outstanding claims' service to be the reason customers buy insurance from us. 

You would be responsible for the professional handling of Direct Primary Casualty Insurance claims.  

You will be equally comfortable acting as Lead or as a coinsurer in the handling of domestic and international claims varying in size and degree of complexity, and capable of technical coverage evaluation and exposure analysis and influencing a market to reach the desired outcome.  

 

Your key responsibilities: 

  • Handle Casualty claims of varying severity within defined authority including, coverage review, fact investigation, loss evaluation, and crafting and executing on an appropriate claim resolution strategy. Set and maintain appropriate and timely indemnity and expense reserves in accordance with the guidelines. 
  • Regularly provide meaningful claims insights and input to internal partners and studies review and analysis relating to claims, emerging risks, legal, regulatory and societal developments and other industry topics 
  • Assist Underwriting and others with contractual wording and risk assessments associated with policies or risks 
  • Provide accurate information and data for Claims' reporting. Follow internal governance, legal and regulatory requirements 
  • Regular Claims and Insurance Industry training/education. Participate in regional and global projects 

 

About the Team 

 

Our claims team is based in Paris and it comprises 5 claims professionals of different backgrounds and fields, handling losses stemming from domestic and international programs across all the main lines of business. 

The position reports into the Head of Claims for France, Iberia and Italy. 

 

About You  

 

  • Educated to legal university degree-level or equivalent insurance work experience  
  • Minimum 7 years Claims or Insurance Industry experience in the French Casualty insurance market. Background working in the primary insurance market including international programs.  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, proficient in English 
  • A desire to learn and develop as a person and as an insurance professional – and to share experience with junior claim handlers 
  • Curious, energetic, analytical, collaborative, problem solver who is prepared to contribute towards all areas of the CorSo business 
  • Strong litigation and outside attorney management skills. Strong understanding of underwriting and other insurance functions. 

 

 

For France, the base salary range for this position is between EUR 70,000 and EUR 104,000 for a full-time role.

The specific salary offered considers:

• the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,

• the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience. In the situation where you do not meet all the requirements or you significantly exceed these, the offered salary may be below or above the advertised range.

In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based annual bonus.
