About the Role

 

As an Insurance Contracts Specialist, you'll be at the intersection of contractual precision and insurance expertise, ensuring our contracts are robust, compliant, and aligned with the French business unit goals. You'll collaborate with underwriters and stakeholders to develop tailored solutions that protect our interests while meeting client needs.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Draft and develop French Swiss Re CorSo forms and ad hoc clauses and wordings with precision and accuracy.

  • Review and analyze third party manuscript wordings to identify risks and breach of internal guidelines.

  • Collaborate with Underwriters and internal stakeholders on complex wording topics.

  • Conduct audits through comprehensive contracts reviews to ensure compliance and quality.

  • Monitor market developments to proactively ringfence contracts and identify emerging trends.

  • Analyse competitors' wordings to gain insights into prevailing market standards and enhance understanding of the operational practices within the French market.

  • Deliver training and awareness sessions to enhance stakeholder knowledge of policy wordings and contracts principles.

  • Provide expert guidance on contractual matters to support business goals and risk management.

 

About the Team

 

The EMEA Contracts & Wording team is responsible for drafting large-risks insurance policy wordings and clauses, reviewing third-party wordings, and providing expert consultation on contractual matters. We work closely with underwriters to ensure robust contract development while monitoring market trends to protect the company's interests. Our team also delivers specialized training to enhance organizational understanding of insurance contract principles.

 

About You

 

You're a detail-oriented professional who is passionate about underwriting and contractual precision. You thrive in collaborative environments where you can apply your analytical mindset to solve complex problems. Your communication skills allow you to explain intricate contractual concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders, and you're committed to continuous learning in an evolving insurance landscape.

 

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

 

  • Fluent in French with native-level proficiency.

  • Demonstrated experience in underwriting or claims, with a solid understanding of insurance principles.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of policy wordings across the primary CorSo lines of business including E&C, Property, GL or FinPro, as well as their practical implementation.

  • Legal aptitude and exceptional attention to detail with ability to analyze complex contractual language.

  • Track record of building strong relationships with underwriters and functioning as an integrated team member.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and negotiate contract changes effectively.

  • Strong ability to communicate effectively.

  • Insurance education or Legal qualification.

  • Engineering and Construction industry expertise.

  • Experience working in international insurance markets.

  • Proficiency in additional European languages.

 

 

For France the annual base salary range for this position is between EUR 74 000 and EUR 110 000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers: 

 

  • the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,

 

  • the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.

 

In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance-based variable compensation component, designed to recognise your achievements.
