About the Role
As an Actuarial Portfolio Management Intern within Corporate Solutions, you will be embedded in a dynamic, collaborative environment where your contributions truly matter. From day one, you will support global pricing and portfolio management activities focused on Latin America, working alongside experienced actuaries and business partners. This is a unique chance to apply your academic knowledge to real-world challenges while building a strong foundation for your actuarial career.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop queries and reports to analyze data from our pricing tools, providing deeper insights into portfolio performance and monitoring changes over time
- Build analytical templates to assess the profitability of key portfolios and support our quarterly profitability review process
- Analyze external data for benchmarking purposes and to identify emerging trends that impact our business across Latin America
- Assist in updating parameters used in our actuarial tools and models to ensure accuracy and relevance of actuarial indications
- Contribute to actuarial projects as needed, gaining broad exposure to different areas of the actuarial function within a global reinsurance environment
About the Team
We are the Global Pricing and Portfolio Management team within the Underwriting Center at Corporate Solutions, dedicated to supporting Latin America business. Our team plays a critical role in delivering actuarial expertise across multiple lines of business, with core responsibilities spanning loss ratio projections, rating plan development, and parameter updates. We collaborate closely with partners across Underwriting, Product, Finance, Claims, Reserving, and Data Science — making us a central hub of analytical insight within the organization.
About You
You are an intellectually curious and proactive student who enjoys working with data and solving complex problems. You communicate clearly, take initiative, and are comfortable working in a multicultural, fast-paced environment. You are eager to learn, open to feedback, and motivated to build a career in actuarial science or a related quantitative field.
We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
- Currently studying Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or another quantitative field, with graduation expected in the second semester of 2027 or later
- Advanced English proficiency — you will regularly collaborate with teams across different regions and geographies
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, with the ability to build and work with analytical models and templates
These are additional nice to haves:
- Spanish language skills — desirable for engagement with Latin America stakeholders, though not required
- Knowledge of VBA for automating tasks and enhancing Excel-based tools
- SQL skills for querying and managing large datasets
- Experience with R or Python for statistical analysis and data manipulation
- Strong communication skills — ability to present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- A genuine interest in the insurance and reinsurance industry and enthusiasm for building an actuarial career
Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.
