Agro Pricing Intern (Hybrid)


This challenge will take you through the details of running the actuarial pricing processes in a specialty line of business, involving both retail and bespoke products. The role overlaps with various responsibilities (from costing to financial modelling), providing a unique opportunity for learning and development in a diversity of subjects.



About the Role:

You would be working closely with the pricing actuary specialist in Agro, developing costing and pricing for retail and bespoke products. This includes getting familiar with business intelligence and market intelligence for solid data-driven decisions, making sure that the proposed pricing is aligned with the team's financial KPIs (which requires thorough understanding of the reinsurance structure). Since you would be dealing with huge amount of data, a sound governance and attention to strict guidelines is critical.


Key responsibilities

  • Assist costing and pricing processes for Agro products under the supervision of a specialist
  • Support the business intelligence and market intelligence landscape, ensuring that the most up-to-date data is available for decision-making
  • Participate in maintaining databases and data pipelines, generate and validate reports for portfolio management and steering purposes



About the Team:

We are a small team of seasoned professionals supporting the leadership and underwriting colleagues in delivering on the core mandates of the Agro line of business. Together, we hold expertise in actuarial pricing, underwriting, data analytics, strategic management, market intelligence, and financial modeling.



About You:

You are a quantitative and detail-oriented individual. Flexibility and curiosity play a role in your ability to learn new skills quickly. You have a natural very good sense of organization and are willing to stick to guidelines. You can concisely articulate your ideas and effectively communicate them to colleagues.



  • University student in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Meteorology, Engineering, or equivalent - Graduation expected: 2025/2026/2027 
  • Strong applied statistics and mathematics understanding
  • Intermediary English
  • Experience using Excel


Nice to Haves

  • Knowledge in US GAAP and IFRS17
  • Knowledge in Power BI and Microsoft Access
  • Keen interest in Agribusiness, Meteorology and Data Analytics
  • Familiarity with reinsurance structures (quota share, stop loss, XoL, etc.)
