Compliance Officer

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to serve as a Compliance Officer for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions Brazil, based in Sao Paolo, Brazil.  You will have the opportunity to support all aspects of the Group Compliance and Corporate Solutions Compliance team's mandate, drive content development and interact with business stakeholders and global Compliance team members. You will also provide support to Group and Compliance team initiatives and projects, as required.

About the Role:

In this role you will:

• Develop and deliver the local Compliance engagement strategy aligning with the Group Compliance Programme, the annual Compliance Plan and associated compliance risk mitigation standards for existing, new and changes to regulations, policies and guidelines
• Monitor regulatory developments and develop subject matter expertise on local regulatory requirements and Swiss Re Policies & Standards
• Provide regulatory compliance advisory support for business risk processes and controls
• Provide Compliance risk framework and control expertise when interacting, reporting and responding to regulators
• Develop and maintain local policies in coordination with the global policy framework and support development of global policies
• Support regular and relevant reporting to the Group, Senior Management and the local Board of Directors 
• Deliver periodic risk-based training, in coordination with the Group training plan, as needed on compliance risks and processes.
• Participate in, and contribute to, wider regional and global initiatives to support our team's mandate.

About the Team:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Corporate Solutions Americas Compliance team, whose other members are located in the US, Canada and Mexico. We provide end-to-end guidance on key Compliance risks including AML, ITC, Anti-Bribery & Corruption, Data Protection, Conduct Risk and others relating to Swiss Re Group's Corporate Solutions business. About You:

• University degree plus 5-7 years of experience in regulatory and/or operational compliance, preferably in an insurance or financial services company. Risk Management, Audit, or Legal experience will be considered.
• Solid understanding of compliance risks and insurance.
• Exposure to international trade/sanctions, AML/TF and Data Privacy/Protection risk topics a plus
• Proficiency in using technology effectively in carrying out functional responsibilities
• Demonstrate a high degree of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information
• Display a "can do" mindset, are dedicated and put the client first
• Team player with strong communication, interpersonal and presenting skills
• Able to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organization, prioritization, and detail orientation
• Strong written and spoken communication skills in English required; Portuguese and Spanish fluency highly desirable;
