About the Role

 

You will not only contribute to the analysis of the credit portfolio, both from risk and profitability views through the analysis of internal and external data, but also contribute to make underwriting more efficient.

  • In this role, you will work with colleagues in diverse functions including underwriting, finance, operations, claims, actuarial and risk management. In addition to the day-to-day tasks, you will contribute to activities linked to the elaboration and implementation of the strategy of the Credit & Surety unit to do it.
  • You will be responsible for all the monitoring activities of a variety of Global Surety portfolios, in locations like US, Colombia, Brazil, Germany, Singapore or Australia.

 

About the Team

 

The Credit Portfolio Steering team reports directly to the Global Head of Credit & Surety (C&S) Corporate Solutions and Global Head of Actuarial Portfolio Management. C&S provides credit risk-based insurance solutions to banks and corporates in the areas of Trade, Commodity & Project Finance, Surety, Political Risk Insurance and Trade Credit Insurance.

The Credit Portfolio Steering team is responsible of providing the framework to portfolio owners to ensure a proper portfolio steering, distribute capacity among the different team accordance to the Target Liability Portfolio, monitoring evolution of the portfolio from profitability & risk views, ensure adherence to aggregate limits and lead the data transformation in the C&S team.

 

About you:

 

Convincing interpersonal skills and ability to maintain effective working relations in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environment, self-starter organized and able to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines, ability to manage diverse projects and tasks simultaneously, able to apply quantitative skills, business knowledge, logical thinking and communicate the key message by visualization & presentation.

 

  • Previous experience (2-3 years) in credit portfolio management, risk reporting, risk management, especially in banking or insurance is preferred; actuarial and/or credit risk management experience a plus
  • Good knowledge and understanding of credit aggregation, global macroeconomics, financial markets and credit-related products; experience in the Trade Finance and Surety sectors a plus
  • Solid academic education (university degree or higher), ideally in financial economics, econometrics, financial engineering, or actuarial sciences.  Engineers are welcome only with financial knowledge background.
  • Well-developed IT skills – Microsoft Office and some programming language (python/ SQL or pyspark)
  • Solid quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, pragmatism and firm judgment
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese or Spanish is a must
