Pricing Actuary L&H

You will be a key member of the Brazilian L&H Pricing team with a focus on accessing reinsurance opportunities.

 

About the Role:

 

Your role is a mix of pricing and client interaction, you will be contacting clients and reinsurance brokers directly as well as conducting the pricing work and as part of the team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with local experts and a broader network of international experts to maintain and increase our L&H portfolio in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay and occasionally other Latam countries.

 

Main tasks / Regular activities

  • Pricing Reinsurance Contracts for Life and Health business in Latam
  • Product development for Life and Health business in Latam
  • Submit the work done for peer review
  • Document the pricing and product development assumptions
  • Review the treaties according to the negotiated terms and conditions
  • Comply with the local and group underwriting standards and guidelines.
  • Participation in client meetings and negotiations
  • Work on special projects supporting other colleagues as needed.

 

 

About the Team:

 

The Latam L&H team is responsible for negotiating and pricing reinsurance contracts, product development and setting pricing assumptions.

 

 

About You:

 

  • Actuary with at least 3 years' experience in related positions
  • Experience with L&H insurance and/or reinsurance products
  • Excellent knowledge of local insurance and reinsurance markets and regulation
  • Good communication skills, work collaborative and good team player
  • Mature and independent professional, able to meet defined deliverable dates
  • Ability to solve complex problems
  • Knowledge of statistical packages like SAS or R is a plus
  • Fluent Portuguese and good command of English
  • Spanish is a plus
  • Experience with development of L&H actuarial models is a plus
