Risk Management Analyst

About The Role:

 

  • Improve the regulatory (SUSEP) requirements related to Risk Management for local Swiss Re CorSo.
  • Collaborate with experts and cross functional members to strengthen the overall governance
    monitoring.
  • Contribute to sound business decisions by applying risk management technical know-how, independently reviewing assumptions made or outcomes produced by 1st line of defense, ensuring proper documentation risk implications.
  • Engage with Business and Functional leaders to ensure business decisions made with risk considerations of an appropriate time horizon, especially (not limited):  Product development, Quality Assurance Claims, Underwriting decisions, ALM process/decision, Reinsurance purchase, Reserving, Risk Capital Management, Strategic & Business Planning.
  • Support Key Risk Indicators timely measurement and consequently action plans follow-up.
  • Support in preparing Risk Reporting and monitoring documents.
  • Deep dives into laws and regulations that may impact Insurance activities for Brazil.
  • Responsible for the implementation of quantitative risk management policies
  • Support quantitative evaluation, through information available within Group Risk Management for local management.
  • Effective contributions to high quality and timely risk and control assessments and risk reports for senior management, legal entity committees and the board.
  • Provide steer and advise with respect to Insurance risk, business risk and solvency related matters.
  • Provide high-value risk advise and steer in your role as risk management for the legal entity in Brazil. This includes regular reviews of the Brazil legal entity internal control environment and contribute to the annual risk report.
  • Build and maintain high quality relationships with internal business partners across the country.

• Be a trusted business partner by providing sound independent input that allows for informed decision making and successful strategy implementation.

• Measure, monitor and advise on risk taking activities within the insurance business, and ensure compliance with Group governance and frameworks.

The LatAm Risk Management team is a small and dynamic team of expert risk managers that maintains responsibility for the oversight of risks across the region.

 

About You:

  • Minimum of 6+ years of work experience is required previously in actuarial functions or / and risk management on related industry
  • Actuarial qualifications/professional experience in the field of (re)insurance is welcome
  • Demonstrate knowledge about SUSEP's current regulation on risks
  • Well-developed understanding of business financials and reporting.
  • Demonstrate an ability to execute tasks and projects without direct oversight and significant ability to operate independently.
  • A good understanding of the legislation and law applicable to areas of expertise.
  • Knowledge of strategic goals and plans of the business.
  • Sound understanding of financial and risk management in insurance industry and the mechanisms to reduce risk.
  • Good analytical and conceptual skills. Able to quickly grasp complex topics and connecting the dots.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (English).
  • Intermediate Spanish.
  • Convincing and persistent personality, good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Solution oriented and proactive personality.
  • Flexible and open for change.
  • Detail oriented and always used to produce high quality work products.
  • Focused on effective and efficient delivery of work products, used to balancing multiple tasks and to evaluating priorities.
  • Strong interest in/motivation to learn about insurance/reinsurance. Previous knowledge in insurance/reinsurance is a plus.
