Objectives (areas of responsibility and authority)
- Quarterly estimation of P&C insurance portfolio reserves including close cooperation with major stakeholders (Claims, Underwriting, Pricing and Finance/Accounting)
- Estimation of corresponding pay-out patterns serving as one of the input parameters for EVM and solvency calculations
- Calculation of Premium Deficiency Test, ULAE and others
- Preparation of internal and external (statutory) financial reportings and presentations

Main tasks / Regular activities
- Provide actuarial analysis for technical provisions (e.g. IBNR) for certain lines of business
- Interact with Claims, Underwriting, Pricing and Finance/Accounting on a group level
- Provide data reconciliation and data quality checks
- Support the automation of process flows (mainly developing program codes based on statistical software SAS, SQL or R)
- Define actuarial data requirements and manage corresponding processes
- Take ownership of projects as defined in the yearly Performance Review or otherwise assigned
- Support on actuarial reporting to group management and regulators

- Feedback from Head Risk and Actuarial Management (includes feedback from Finance, Underwriting and Market executives) on quality and efficiency of results

Job requirements
Education
|
- Actuarial background
- On the way to be or full member of the Brazilian Actuarial Association and registered with the Instituto Brasileiro de Atuários (IBA)
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Proficiency in SAS, R, SQL or similar statistical data software, considered a plus
|
Linguistic ability
|
- Fluentspoken and written knowledge of Portuguese and English
- Additional languages such as German or French considered a plus
|
Experience
|
- Property & Casualty actuarial experience in (commercial) insurance industry with emphasis on loss reserving and financial reporting in an international environment, considered a plus
- Additional experience in economic/solvency valuations and pricing of Corporate Business considered a plus
