Team Leader Financial Accounting

About the Role

 

You will providetimely and accurateaccounting servicesaccording to internal guidelines and regulatory requirements. You willperform monthly and quarterlyfinance closing activities of the Swiss Re's Representative Reinsurance Offices and Service Company in Brazil under BR GAAP standards and IFRS. The range of activities includes:

  • Closing balances sheets for regulatory and tax purposes.

  • Managing cost sharing agreements from the design to the operation, having a lot of contact with Swiss Re headquarter in Zurich.

  • Overseeing the expenses related to Swiss Re's Representative Reinsurance Offices and Service Company in Brazil.

  • Bringing innovation and automation to the financial processes.

 

You will also oversee the process of payments of operational and administrative expenses for all Swiss Re's companies in Brazil, ensuring the accuracy of the requests and the right governance for approvals.

 

About the Team

 

The Finance Brazil is responsible for statutory and regulatory reports for all Swiss Re entities in Brazil, covering local and admitted reinsurers, an insurance company, one service company and one holding company. With more than 30 employees located in São Paulo, the team provides also services for the business team by providing strategics inputs for the development of the company in the country.

 

About You

 

 

  • We look for a senior accountant with a valid certificate (CRC) as the position will be responsible for regulatory reports.

  • At least 4-5 years of relevant working experience in accounting, preference for insurance or reinsurance market.

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to deliver quality output to short deadlines and manage details without losing sight of the "big picture".

  • Strong communication skills, in particular ability to summarize complex technical issues to a non-expert audience, both written and verbal.

  • Fluent Portuguese and English are needed as interactions with local regulator and Swiss Re's headquarter.
