Client Underwriter P&C - Hybrid

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a new role at Swiss Re. The Client Underwriter will focus on selecting top clients and building a portfolio that outperforms the market benchmark.

A successful Client Underwriter will combine world class origination, client management and Underwriting Excellence skills to develop and foster client relations across all executive and management levels.

 

Key responsibilities may include:

 

  • End-to-end underwriting analyses of core business including risk selection, costing, contracts review and structuring; incorporating and improving relevant technology to make informed decisions
  • Grow the core business by developing opportunities in the portfolio in collaboration with relevant specialists and driving toward the principle of "right service right client"
  • Anticipate and understanding competitor products as well as industry, economic and market trends
  • Collaborating with Product Underwriters on the evaluation of treaties, decisive actions within your assigned treaties to meet standards and guidelines.
  • Developing and nourishing relationships with brokers to maintain a healthy pipeline of client opportunities and client relationships.

About You

You have strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, and pride yourself on your analytical and organizational skills. You have exceptional communication and client management skills that help you build and develop relationships with clients and brokers.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in insurance/reinsurance underwriting, portfolio and/or client management, claims, or underwriting support role.
  • Actuarial analyst skills or experience is considered a plus.
  • Possesses strong business acumen, client management skills, consultancy skills, negotiation and judgement skills.

 

Travel required 20-25%
Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office two to three days per week on average.
