About the Role

This position supports the Underwriting functions of the North American Surety Bond division. In this role you will handle tasks ranging from the review of incoming submissions to problem resolution with our Underwriters and Agents. We seek to be knowledge workers who contribute to the overall success of our business unit. This is a dynamic organization with a team that stretches from the U.S. to India and Bratislava.

About The Role

Tasks typically are Client and Business directed with appropriate mentorship

  • Daily interaction and coordination with team members, Team Leads, and both internal and external customers.
  • Support UW with the handling of renewals and endorsements
  • Read, organize, and work with detailed source documents from customers following procedures to figure out appropriate next steps.
  • Enter and maintain information in systems and tools used to complete associated tasks.
  • Communicate both orally and in writing with others to answer questions regarding files, records and other documentation, as needed.
  • Build and maintain electronic records and hard copies, if required, following established guidelines and processes.
  • Follow established Service Level Agreements applicable to the business unit supported.
  • Participate in generating and verifying business reports.
  • Assist in developing concepts, processes, and critical success factors for achieving high results in operations.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • If applicable, prepare documents for issuance and review for customer acceptance.
  • Compile, review, and verify data accuracy using source documents. When you detect errors you will work with the customer or process owner to resolve and complete the transaction.
  • Follow-up on outstanding items and documentation, as required.
  • Perform assigned rule-based tasks following standard operating procedures.
  • Craft business correspondence using template forms, where appropriate.

About You

Education:

  • Minimum of Bachelors degree, 4 years of equivalent work experience, or military service desired.

Relevant experience:

  • Experience supporting Surety Bonds lines is advantageous.

Linguistics:

  • You need to be fully proficient in the (English) language, reading, written and verbal.
  • Other languages, such as Swiss German are a benefit.

Physical demands & travel requirements:

  • Requires daily, prolonged use of computers.
  • Occasional overnight travel for training or meetings.
