About the role

The insurance industry is just beginning to harness amazing amounts of structured and unstructured data. Join a fun team that aspires to utilize it's unique data sets to drive better business performance. You will work with multiple industry experts and Swiss Re's own internal data experts on a high impact project which is currently in development.


About the team

The team is focused on small and medium sized property and casualty business produced through intermediaries. Clients range from 100+ year old mutual insurance companies to insuretech companies on the cutting edge of technology and insurance.

The team's experience ranges from seasoned industry experts to new joiners just learning our business. The 21 members of this team are really a fun, supportive and engaged group that is willing to share expertise and team success. We are positioned in 5 Swiss Re offices and have 3 teleworkers. The bulk of our team is located in Schaumburg.


Program details

Every year, Swiss Re offers internships to a number of bright and highly motivated students, enabling them to benefit from the company's global perspective and to discover the world. A Swiss Re internship can be much more than a temporary job - it can be your first step to a rewarding career.


The program is expected to last 10 - 12 weeks, offers competitive salaries, and is offered in various Swiss Re locations. The opportunity entails the development and management of the process and project timeline to deliver the SR US ORSA, and other risk reporting, in compliance with SR guidelines and regulatory requirements.


About you 

  • In Junior year of an undergrad degree program
  • Business infomatics major or significant equivalent coursework preferred.
  • Strong academic performance (GPA of 3.0 and above)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Independent, curious problem solving approach to work.


Strong preference for the candidate to be based in the Schaumburg office. For the right candidate, open to a placement in Chicago, Armonk or Kansas City.
