Actuarial analyst (6 ~ 10 months contract position)
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to support the Pricing Team with respect to standardization and quality management of the data received from clients. This role plays an essential role in preparing the data for seamless data digestion and utilization process within Swiss Re.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate and standardize data input from Korean to English, aligning with Swiss Re internal standards
- Classify and categorize risks by appropriate risk units to maintain consistency across datasets
- Review and normalize client-provided data to address ambiguities related to Korean terminology or risk grouping
- Collaborate with the Technical Account team to support processes requiring accurate data mapping
- Support data preparation processes for effective utilization within Swiss Re systems
- Contribute to data quality management procedures
About the Team
As part of Life & Health (L&H) Korea Team, you'll be both an individual and team contributor. The L&H pricing team of Korea currently consists of 5 professionals who work closely with client managers, underwriting and claims team to support business development. The team engages in a vibrant cross-functional environment within the broader Swiss Re, offering abundant opportunities to expand your expertise and role. About You
You're organized with good attention to detail and a talent for handling information. You enjoy problem-solving and have an interest in insurance products and risk assessment. Your ability to work with both Korean and global contexts make you a good fit for this role.
We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
- Internship, part-time experience, or up to 1–2 years of experience in an actuarial consulting firm, preferably with exposure to product review or risk rate validation
- Strong ability to understand Korean insurance products; the nature of coverage and the structure of products
- Proven capability to classify similar or identical risks into standardized groups
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
- Proficiency in Korean language and familiarity with Korean insurance terminology
- English writing proficiency for clear documentation and communication (Preferred)
- Experience with data manipulation tools or programming languages (e.g., Excel, SQL, R, Python) (Preferred)
