Engineering Underwriter

About the Role

We're looking for a highly motivated and result oriented underwriter to join Global Engineering Asia with working location in Korea. This is a great opportunity that you can handle both engineering treaty and engineering facultative businesses together. Key focus of this role is to support Engineering Underwriting Manager in developing engineering portfolio in South Korea and Japan.

Responsibilities

• Profitably grow facultative and treaty engineering portfolio in allocated markets, while providing high quality underwriting services and risk solutions to reinsurance clients. 
• Follow up post underwriting activities such as risk survey, portfolio reserve setting, treaty / fac post-bind servicing and claims supports while helping the administrative staffs to manage UW (Underwriting) documentation and IT system accurately according to company guidelines.
• Support Engineering Digital strategy and other growth initiatives.
• Strengthen Swiss Re market position in allocated markets according to company strategy. e.g. marketing activities, client services, underwriting training ...etc.
• Work together with cross functional team to strengthen overall partnerships with reinsurance clients for achieving win-win.
• Play an active role in the Swiss Re Global Engineering community in terms of knowledge sharing, portfolio review and / or special projects.
• In addition to allocated markets, support business operation of other Asia Engineering Underwriting teams if required.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Engineering degree with working experience in large infrastructure construction projects  
• More than 3 years of experience in Engineering Insurance 
• Client focused (understand client's needs and act on them) and a problem-solving mindset
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable to work in a fast-paced, under pressure and multi-cultural environment
• Willing to travel 15% of time
• Language: Korean and English
