About the Role

Swiss Re Korea is looking for a Life&Health Pricing Actuary with more than 10 years of actuarial working experience in (re)insurance companies. This position will conduct pricing of reinsurance business to be written by the Korea office in accordance with the internal guidelines and develop new business piplelines, including generation of new product ideas or financial solutions, through close cooperation with marketing, underwriters and other units. One of main roles is to provide sound advice to support the sustainable growth of the business.

 

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Analyze actuarial risks as well as product features to execute each quotation
  • Maintain best estimate assumptions, i.e. detailed standard terms on which business can be written, for all major lines of business, and apply regular experience study outcomes to update the basis of these terms
  • Identify/generate new product ideas to meet client needs through extensive analysis of market trends, geographical changes, social welfare system changes, and offshore market trends, while utilizing regional inputs as needed
  • Develop new business opportunities through delivery of new product ideas and/or financial solutions
  • Maintain strong relationship with key clients including liaison on product development topics and delivery of presentations to share market/product knowledge

About You

  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing and leadership skills, with great capability to articulate technical topics to different stakeholders, including clients
  • A team player who is able to both work independently and collaborate with colleagues through clear communications. Good prioritization and time management skills, with ability to multi-task
  • Willingness and capacity to travel overseas where necessary
  • Ability to work within a virtual office environment and across organization borders, including communicating with stakeholders that are not physically based in the same office
  • More than at least 10 years of actuarial working experience at insurance companies; experience in pricing / product development would be a definite plus
  • Strong understanding of the Korea insurance industry and regulations
  • Fundamental insights and/or profound knowledge of product market trends and economic values
  • Good understanding in statistics and/or relevant statistical coding
  • Proficiency in advanced MS Office suite - Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint
