Marketing Innovation Manager

About the Role

We are looking for a qualified candidate to drive new marketing initiatives, which includes but not limited to, data-driven UW (Underwriting) solutions in Korea. This role will work alongside Client Markets, UW and Product team to uncover various needs and insights from clients through data analytics, formulate and test ideas, and form partnership(s) with external parties, if necessary, to accelerate our innovation in the area of differentiated product & service offerings throughout the entire insurance value chain. The role includes defining how as a team we can best leverage and digest industry news & regulation, identify and understand where the market is growing and changing and how to leverage innovation trends within insurance & health industries in order to source ideas and opportunities for growth.

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Represent Swiss Re Korea's data-driven solution(s) – set strategic direction, identify business opportunities, and lead the project end to end
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities or new source of income – new business model, forming a partnership with data-driven or service partner(s)
  • Facilitate and expedite incubation of new product ideas and product development through related R&D and coordination efforts
  • Closely work with regional Solution Division to explore business opportunities on global solutions for local penetration – identify business opportunities, customize the solution(if necessary), set go-to-market strategy, engage with target client(s) and implement the service locally
  • Be the "go-to person" for potential biz collaboration or biz opportunities on market data or data analytic topics, design & drive related communications internally and externally, and lead to develop the idea into a workable solution in collaboration with XFTs
  • Regularly monitor and assess existing and emerging data, analytics and evolving trend of technologies, evaluate their ramifications on the (re)insurance industry and relevance for the L&H (Life & Health) Korea team
  • Industry Engagement (including regulator), when necessary, related to Insurtech or data-driven related topics 

 

About the Team

SMI(Strategy & Marketing Innovation) team's main roles are to assist the market head, in setting strategic direction & business plan for Swiss Re L&H Korea, and to facilitate in developing ideas for biz origination/solution(including product ideation, data-driven product offering, partnership with external vendors etc.) for new source of income, and to drive/coordinate/manage those new initiatives end to end in order to ensure reasonable monetization out of them.

 

About You

 

  • More than 6 years of working experience in insurance industry
  • Solid understanding of insurance market across entire insurance value-chains - sales, marketing, products, UW & claim process   
  • Any experience (either directly or indirectly) in implementing UW process improvement or UW automation initiative in insurance industry is preferred
  • Solid understanding of insurance data intelligence (insight/strategy building) and good project management skill (to fulfill Swiss Re's data-driven initiative)
  • Good data analytic capability is preferred - either of Python, R, or C#
  • Solid communication skills: able to organize and lead meetings with business partners (primarily direct insurers), and effectively sell our value propositions and get their buy-in.
  • Good planning skill: set strategic direction and plan clearly with clear time-frame whilst optimizing resources and process
  • Solid client & partner engagement skill – develop, solidify and maintain good relationship with partner(s)
  • Strong ability for problem solving- breaking down problems and developing analytical insight
  • Strong sense of business ownership
  • Proficient in English – Both in spoken and written English
  • Strong willingness to seek and explore new ideas for problem solving and addressing clients' needs
