About the Role: 
As a trusted HR professional, you will be the central point of contact across operational activity and deliver all operational HR services in Shanghai. In this position, you will be also required to lead and implement all regulatory and governance tasks and ensure our local policies / guidelines are updated accordingly across all entities and BUs in China. And you will lead projects/initiatives in collaboration with the global and local HR team to support HR priorities, such as optimising internal processes in an automated or digitalized way.

As a trusted operations expert:

  •  Support Swiss Re’s commitment to being an employer of choice by providing efficient and effective HR services in accordance with local HR operating model and standard processes.
  •  Manage day-to-day HR operations to ensure HR procedures and documentation are in line with internal policies and processes.
  •  Provide functional expertise and support for employee queries on HR policies, procedures and entitlements. 
  •  Contribute to various HR driven initiatives and projects.

As a regulatory professional:

  •  Keeps close watch of local employment markets and legislations to ensure full legal compliance. 
  •  Review local HR policies and guidelines to meet HR governance and regulatory requirements.
  •  Deliver a variety of reports to meet regulatory requirements in a timely manner.
  •  Support internal audit and external regulatory inspections.

As an innovator of technological change:

  •  To improve employee experience and overall process efficiency and effectiveness, continuously standardize and optimize HR operational processes in close collaboration with HR team and cross-functional stakeholders.
  •  Leverage Global resources and local service suppliers to drive digitalised operations in Swiss Re China.

About You: 
Key skills and knowledge: 

  •  A bachelor's degree or equivalent and 10+ years of work experience in Human Resources, with at least 5 years in HR operations.
  •  Strong experience and understanding of HR legal practice and local labor laws.
  •  Knowledge of HR systems and processes.
  •  Comprehensive knowledge of HR processes, philosophies and strategies.
  •  Strong Diagnostic, analytical, problem solving & decision-making skills.
  •  Demonstrated ability to deliver plans and track records of success in handling the operational HR service function.
  •  Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  •  Exceptional client and stakeholder management skills.
  •  Customer oriented.
  •  Fluent in written and spoken Business English.
  •  Excellent attention to details with ability to prioritize workload is a requirement.
  •  Enthusiastic individual with a client orientated approach that seeks to understand issues/concerns and develop solutions to improve ways of working. 
  •  Great teammate, strong passion to perform, open-minded and reliable.
  •  Willingness to be held accountable and take ownership of projects/activities. 
  •  Ability to work in and adapt to a fast-paced working environment where change, resilience and flexibility is essential.
