Principal Senior Auditor
About the Role
As a Principal Senior Auditor of the Regulatory Audit China team in Group Internal Audit (GIA), you will operate within a dynamic, agile working environment — self-organizing with talented peers to deliver high-quality work, including not only the audit activities related to Swiss Re's business and operations in China, but also local regulatory deliverables, relationship management, risk assessment, initiatives and projects in wider GIA as appropriate.
You will be the Audit Responsible Person of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions China (CorSo China), play an important role in the delivery of independent assurance and insights for the Board of Directors of CorSo China, and own the regulatory responsibilities as required.
Together with the audit team, you ensure strong execution and delivery of audits, contribute strong business insights, and uphold internal standards and quality.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver local regulatory audits end-to-end, ensuring high-quality, timely and impactful outcome
• Identify control weaknesses and process gaps, and develop pragmatic, commercially sound recommendations to address them
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of GIA Methodology and apply it consistently across audits, provide coaching to junior team members to uphold internal standards and quality
• Manage local regulatory deliverables, ensuring compliance with Chinese insurance regulatory requirements and internal standards
• Manage regular and timely reporting with local Audit Committee and Board of Directors, and own the regulatory responsibilities as the Audit Responsible Person
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with stakeholders, communicating complex findings with clarity and confidence, and at the same time maintain independence to make objective assessments
• Provide input to risk assessments to identify and evaluate key risks across Swiss Re's China operations, in forming audit scope and priorities
• Apply data-driven auditing techniques, including data analytics, to assess risks, scope audits and test the effectiveness of controls, and continuously explore effective AI use cases throughout the auditing life cycle
• Contribute to wider GIA initiatives and projects, bringing fresh perspectives and innovative thinking to continuously improve audit practices
• Collaborate across teams and functions, sharing knowledge and influencing stakeholders to foster a strong risk and control culture

About You
You are an intellectually curious, results-driven professional who combines strong technical audit expertise with excellent interpersonal skills. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, working collaboratively in agile environments, and communicating difficult messages with tact and professionalism. You bring a strategic mindset — always seeing the bigger picture — while remaining meticulous in your analysis and delivery.
We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
• 8+ years of experience in external and/or internal audit in financial industry, with experience in leadership or managerial role
• Rich knowledge of (re)insurance business, including its governance frameworks, risk landscape, and control environments, and strong awareness of internal audit methodologies
• Strong understanding of local insurance regulations in China, with the ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements in an audit context
• Previous experience of regulatory Audit Responsible Person in insurance company is highly preferred
• Highly organized, natural self-starter, with the ability to take accountability and manage various audits and projects and work under pressure and tight timelines
• Result oriented, able to plan well, challenge oneself amid complexity and ambiguity, delivering results on time and with high quality
• Collaborative and motivated team player who can listen actively, build consensus, and influence stakeholders at all levels
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills — both written and spoken — in English and Chinese (Mandarin), particularly in a business context
• Strong problem-solving ability with a commitment to quality, accuracy, and on-time delivery
• Critical and innovative thinker who can generate creative solutions in complex, fast-moving situations
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), plus data analytics and AI working experience, with the ability to leverage tools and techniques to enhance audit efficiency and insight
• Professional certification, such as CPA, CA, or CIA, is preferred
• University degree in a relevant field (e.g., Finance, Accounting, Business, Law)
• IT audit experience is a plus, bringing an additional dimension to risk assessment and audit testing
