'Solutions' is a central pillar of the reinsurance strategy, critical both to development of our core activities as well as developing new revenue streams for Swiss Re. There is an opportunity to leverage our risk knowledge and capital to create new shareholder value for Swiss Re through Solutions, which ultimately should lead to valuation uplift. 


Solutions are services delivered to clients that lead to new, more or better business profit generation for Swiss Re that would not happen through core or transaction business. These earnings will be manifested primarily through a fee income model. 


Our ambition is to move to the next level in terms of scale and professionalism, fully deploying Swiss Re’s risk knowledge to a wider group of clients. Given this, we created a new Solutions Division, to significantly develop and grow our Solutions offering across the Swiss Re Group, with the ambitions of Swiss Re becoming the Solutions go-to partner.


About the Role


The Regional Head Sales and Origination L&H Reinsurance Solutions is a director position that reports directly to the Chief Commerical Officer (CCO) of Swiss Re Solutions and is a member of the CCO's Management Team. This role brings together all Solutions Sales resources and activities in Reinsurance covering Life & Health (L&H) in the APAC Region. They work with XFTs (cross functional teams) for existing reinsurance clients as well as seeking new revenue streams from non-clients and new clients in adjacent sectors. The ambition of the Swiss Re Group is to generate a significant and growing fee-based income-stream, resulting in diversified earnings as well as a potential valuation uplift in the medium term and this role plays a significant part in achieving this ambition.  

The key responsibilities are as follows:
•    Contributing towards and executing on the SRS strategy across L&H business and in relation to existing clients, non-clients and new potential clients in different sectors
•    Delivering on fee-based income targets as per the annual 3-year rolling business plan
•    Develop a strategy to meet the revenue targets on a mid term basis that is consistent with the overall Swiss Re group strategy
•    Building/Mentoring/Managing the specialized Regional L&H solutions sales team in APAC
•    Develop and create sales channels/partnerships/ alliances specialized in APAC
•    Developing and nurturing a leading professional services sales / origination culture
•    Inputting on future client solutions needs and making focused recommendations on the areas that offer maximum commercial up-side
•    Contributing to the marketing strategy for L&H solutions
•    Ensuring a collaborative One-Swiss Re approach across our L&H reinsurance client-base, connecting proactively with Swiss Re's existing teams, infrastructure, systems and processes


About You


The position holder will have the following experience and qualifications:
•    5+ years in a senior management position 
•    A strong track-record of sales team leadership and results delivery, ideally with tech and/or professional services background
•    Understanding and experience with Re/Insurance clients in L&H in APAC
•    Knowledge and experience of Swiss Re's ecosystem and Solutions offering
•    A collaborative and team-based approach to business, valuing an inclusive approach, leveraging organisation-wide capabilities
•    A broad skills capability that encompasses senior sales to clients, external profiling as well as developing the SRS sales team as a best-in-class professional services unit
•    Ability to develop relationships with key market players 
•    Knowledge of Asian languages would be an advantage
