Underwriter Credit & Surety
We are seeking a highly motivated and result oriented Underwriter to join our Credit & Surety Underwriting APAC team in Singapore.
Growing economic profit from Credit & Surety clients in your dedicated geographical area of responsibility will fall under your remit.

About the Role
You will be responsible to accurately assess and cost Credit & Surety reinsurance products and provide high-quality Underwriting analyses and decisions, consistent with Swiss Re’s risk appetite and guidelines. You will provide clients with reinsurance solutions which meet their marketing objectives, regulatory constraints and profitability targets.
Main activities of this role:
- Analyze and assess treaty and facultative business regarding risks, exposure and profitability and conduct adequate costing
- Provide sound underwriting recommendations and decisions and ensure business is underwritten in compliance with Swiss Re’s guidelines and policies
- Negotiate reinsurance terms and conditions directly with clients or in collaboration with Client Underwriters
- Regularly interact with insurance clients, brokers and professional service providers in credit ecosystems to gather relevant information on market trends and opportunities as well as ensure a diligent underwriting and claims management
- Ensure efficient coordination with internal stakeholders in Client Underwriting, Business Services, Credit Risk Management, Contracts, Business Management and Finance
About the Team
Credit & Surety Reinsurance Underwriting covers clients in Credit, Surety and Political Risk Insurance worldwide. Being part of the Global Specialty unit, the team is located in several premises across America, Europe and Asia.
About You
- You are a great teammate with a “can do” attitude and strong interpersonal skills who naturally brings individuals together as needed, across countries and functions.
- Professional education (university degree in business administration, economics or law)
- Ideally two years of successful track record in a Credit & Surety underwriting-related position
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills
- Proficient level of English language; any other Asian language is an advantage.
