Credit & Surety MGA Operations Specialist

Are you experienced in insurance operations and comfortable coordinating complex onboarding processes across teams and regions? Join Swiss Re Corporate Solutions (CorSo) and play a key role in onboarding and overseeing Managing General Agent (MGA) partnerships that support our Credit & Surety growth ambitions.

As part of a global operations team, you will contribute to the successful onboarding of MGA partners associated with recent portfolio expansion, ensuring strong governance, operational readiness, and alignment with applicable Swiss Re Standards.

 

About the Role

As Credit & Surety MGA Operations Specialist, you will support the onboarding and oversight of delegated authority partners within the Credit & Surety portfolio. You will coordinate due diligence, documentation, and internal approval processes while working closely with underwriting, legal, finance, technical accounting, claims, IT, and other stakeholders.  This role reports to the Head of Global Credit & International Surety Operations for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions.

You will interact directly with MGA partners to provide timely support, as well as l contribute to ongoing oversight activities, helping ensure that MGA partners operate in line with agreed governance and regulatory requirements.

The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across geographies and functions.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate onboarding activities
    • Ensure required documentation, due diligence, and internal approvals are completed in a timely manner 
    • Review and organize detailed documentation received from MGA partners, identify gaps or inconsistencies, and determine appropriate next steps
    • Communicate clearly and confidently with MGA partners and internal stakeholders to obtain required information and support timely execution of onboarding activities
    • Support validation of operational readiness, including process alignment, data exchange, premium flow considerations, and control requirements
    • Liaise with underwriting, legal, finance, technical accounting, claims, IT, and other internal stakeholders to ensure smooth onboarding and transition
    • Contribute to the development and maintenance of onboarding checklists, process documentation, and standard operating procedures
  • Ongoing oversight and governance activities
    • Support oversight reviews and audits, including preparation of materials and follow-up on identified actions
    • Support the identification and resolution of governance, regulatory, and compliance topics related to delegated authority programs, coordinating with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and other stakeholders as required, including compliance to CPS230 and other local regulations
    • Monitor key performance indicators and reporting requirements for assigned MGA programs and escalate issues as appropriate
    • Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency and consistency in MGA onboarding and oversight activities
    • Monitor bordereaux and Technical Accounting

 

About the Team

The Credit & Surety Operations team supports global business partners in delivering high-quality, well-governed delegated authority and specialty insurance programs. Working across regions, the team collaborates closely with underwriting, finance, legal, and risk functions to ensure strong operational standards and effective oversight of partner relationships.

About You

You are a structured and detail-oriented insurance professional who is comfortable working across multiple stakeholders and priorities. You bring strong coordination and analytical skills and apply sound judgment when navigating governance and operational requirements.

You are confident engaging with both internal stakeholders and external partners, able to request information, clarify expectations, and follow through on open items in a professional and constructive manner. You thrive in a global, matrixed environment and can manage multiple workstreams with accuracy and transparency.

 

Key Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience in insurance, preferably within commercial or specialty lines; experience in credit and surety helpful but not required
  • Experience with delegated authority, program business, MGA oversight, underwriting operations, or related governance activities preferred
  • Solid understanding of insurance operations, documentation processes, and internal control requirements; experience supporting audits or oversight reviews helpful but not required
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across functions in a multinational environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured and timely manner
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • University degree or equivalent experience

 

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.

For Australia, the base salary range for this position is between AUD 100,000 and AUD 150,000 for a full-time role. The specific salary offered considers the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role as well as the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.

In the situation where you do not meet all the requirements or you significantly exceed these, the offered salary may be below or above the advertised range. In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based annual bonus.
