Process Optimisation Actuary
About the Role
Are you passionate about process improvement? We're seeking a team member who's excited to immerse themselves in our complex reinsurance system landscape and collaborate with colleagues across the region. In this role, you'll help shape and streamline our IFRS17 processes, to create practical solutions and build stronger ways of working together.
This is a 9-12 month temporary contract. This position will report into the Head of Actuarial and Reservicng ANZ.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with the APAC regional IFRS17 actuarial team to evaluate and design optimal regional process such that within 12 months the local branch process can be migrated to this regional process covering all filers following standard IFRS17 reporting.
- Drive and implement required changes for the Australian P&C Reinsurance Branch
- Support the delivery of IFRS17 results for Australian P&C Reinsurance Branch
- Review the reasonableness of group calculations for local accounts
- As necessary, support the calculation of local adjustments for ANZ finance function
- Provide support for IFRS17 sign-off responsibilities in respect of above
- Provide audit support for actuarial IFRS17 calculations to external auditor
About the Team
In this role you'll be part of the ANZ Actuarial & Reserving team, and work closely with our APAC IFRS17, Finance and Local Business colleagues to achieve your objectives.
About You
Required qualifications and skills
- Hands-on IFRS17 implementation experience – General Model experience an advantage
- Demonstrated process improvement success
- Ability to work independently and with remote stakeholders.
- Ability to translate technical/theoretical concepts into pragmatic solutions
- Proficiency in R
- Minimum Associate Actuary qualification
- 7+ years of experience
- Execution focused
- Strong communication skills
